Supporting Hydration and Communities in Need: Our Partnership with AquAid

Here at Rood End Medical Practice, we recognise that staying well-hydrated is essential for helping our team, patients, and visitors feel and perform at their best throughout the day. That’s why we’ve chosen to invest in watercoolers from AquAid.

But this partnership goes beyond just providing fresh, clean drinking water in our practice.

Every watercooler we purchase from AquAid also contributes to a meaningful cause. Through their collaboration with The Africa Trust, a donation is made with each purchase to fund the construction of ‘Elephant Pumps’ — a simple, sustainable water pump based on an age-old rope pulley system. These pumps provide vital access to clean, safe drinking water for communities across parts of Africa.

We’re proud to share that one such pump is currently being installed in Africa on behalf of Rood End Medical Practice. It will soon become a much-needed source of fresh water for local villagers. Our practice name will be displayed on the pump, and we look forward to receiving a photo and a letter of thanks from the community — which we’ll be delighted to share with you on our website in the near future.

To date, AquAid has built over 10,000 Elephant Pumps across Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe, and has donated more than £22 million to charitable projects — an initiative we’re honoured to be a part of.
