All new babies are invited for regular check-ups from 8 weeks old. You will receive an invite from the childhood immunisations team. Contact the surgery when you receive the invitation.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday by appointment with the trainers. The health trainer, Miss Louise Pickard, will provide one-to-one advice and support on weight management, diet advice and healthy lifestyle. Louise is able to refer and signpost you to a wide range of services such as weightwatchers, slimming world, smoking cessation, exercise/gym and swimming.
Joint Injections and pain management clinics
We have specialist pain management clinics run by a specialist GP, Dr Tahir Mohammed on Mondays. Clinicians at the practice can directly refer you into this clinic.
The clinics are run by the practice nurse and clinician who is qualified in this field. We offer regular review of treatment and instruction in inhaler use and self-help.
Reminders for these tests are sent to patients' homes directly from the Cancer screening team. Upon receipt, please telephone and make an appointment with the practice nurse.
Referral is by the doctor. An appointment will be sent directly to the patient by the counsellor. Counselling is a form of therapy to help you work through a wide range of personal and family difficulties. Demand for this service is high and the waiting list could extend to several weeks. If you are unable to keep your appointment it is imperative that you let us know as soon as possible so that the slot can be given to another patient.
These clinics are run by the practice nurse who is qualified in this field, a pharmacist prescriber with special interest in Diabetes and a GP. All diabetics on our register are invited for annual checks. Regular review of diabetic control is encouraged, as good control of diabetes helps avoid long-term complications.
Emergency Contraception and Pill checks
A full range of services is offered during normal surgery appointments; please ask your doctor or practice nurse for advice. Emergency contraception is available after discussion with a doctor.
All new patients joining our practice are invited to have a health check. If you are aged between 16 and 74 years and have not been seen by a GP within the last three years then please make an appointment for a general health check with our practice nurse or health care assistant. Patients over 75 who have not attended in the last 12 months should make an appointment for a health check.
Travel health and Vaccinations
You can book to see our experienced nursing team for travel health advice and vaccinations. We do ask patients to complete a travel health questionnaire, so the nurse can review your records and see if any travel vaccinations are required or not. Please feel free to speak to reception staff.
Elderly health assessment
We offer special health checks for patients over 75 years. Please contact the receptionist to book with the nurse.
